Project Activities

Maternal and Child health 2014 to date
Since 2014 we have been offering Antenatal and postnatal care and safe deliveries at Tumusiime medical center in Mitooma district. In 2016 we partnered with Mariestopes and scaled up service delivery at our health center. We mobilize and sensitize pregnant women to deliver from health facilities, proper nutrition, and immunization for their babies. Since then the number of women giving birth in health facilities has increased, the mortality of children 5 has reduced and improved nutrition practices in the area.

Vulnerable Child Education 2011-to date
We have since 2011 been giving free and affordable quality education to vulnerable children in Western Uganda. We also give half bursaries to pupils who have been with us and wish to go for higher education. We also operate a skilling center at the school where vulnerable children who do not join secondary are given vocational skills and start-up Kits.

Family planning and reproductive health 2010 – to date
Reproductive health and family planning have been key components of our work. The scope of our work involves maternal, newborn, and child health, HIV and AIDS prevention and treatment. We work alongside country partners to achieve targets for promoting family planning, increasing contraceptive prevalence, and reducing the proportion of women who give birth before age 18.

HIV testing and Counseling campaign (2009-2015)
This initiative was aimed at reducing the number of new HIV infections and AIDS-related deaths by offering free HIV testing and counseling services and connecting HIV positive mothers to ART centers. More than 12000 people were tested across the western region.

Community mobilization and sensitization of Blood donation in Western Region
Due to the serious blood crisis in the country, many mothers lose their lives due to excessive blood loss after delivery. ACPP is organizing Charity Walks and Blood donation activities to reduce the blood crisis in Uganda.

About ACPP

Africa Community Partnership Programmes (ACPP) is a non-profit making organization. ACPP was founded in 2010 as a Local CBO in bushenyi, because of increased HIV prevalence and the vulnerability it has exposed to young children, women, and other sections of the community.
